Q: What are the security measures put in place?

A: Police Officers, KWS (Kenya Wild Life Service) wardens and rangers will be deployed throughout the camp and route to ensure safety for all our participants and spectators/visitors.

Q: What are the various awards/prizes given to runners?

A: Every runner will receive a certificate and/or a medal upon completion of the race.

The top 10 in each category will receive a cash prize.

Q: How many water points are there along the route?

A: There are 9 water points every 2.5km on the route. Sponges and bottled water will be available.

Q: How long is the drive from Nairobi to the Masai Mara Marathon Venue?

A: It is a 4-hour journey.

Q: When do I collect my runner’s packs?

A.The runners kit will be collected in the Mara on the 27th September 2019.

Q: What is Full Board?

A: Full Board in this case means that the quoted price includes accommodation and meals.

Q: What are the nearest airstrips?

A: The following three airstrips are nearest to the Masai Mara Marathon Venue;
Mara Shika, Mara North and Ngerende airstrips

Q: If my child is under 10 years, do they need to pay the spectators fee?

A: No, they will not need to pay the spectators fee.

Q: Can children participate?

A: Children above the age of 10 can participate in the Marathon but those below 10 years can only come as spectators.

A: The Marathon’s objectives are to support Education, Water, Health & Sanitation and Conservation projects.
